Tips & Information > Leather Care |
Leather is a beautiful, warm complement to the atmosphere of any home. It's versatility and softness also make it functional and luxurious for clothing, accessories and automobiles. Caring for and extending the life of your leather mostly requires preventative maintenance with quality leather-care products.
- Use a high-quality leather cleaner/conditioner, such as Weiman®, regularly to keep leather clean and supple.
- Avoid using cleaning fluid, shoe cream, saddle soap and mink oil. These products contain ingredients that may damage leather.
- Test any protection and cleaning products on a hidden area of the leather.
- Avoid spraying household fragrances near leather furniture or applying hair sprays and perfumes while wearing leather.
- Don't use adhesives or tape on leather.
- Winter salt stains your leather, so wipe clean immediately and dry naturally.
- If your leather becomes wet, allow it to dry at room temperature. Never put leather in the dryer.
